Photo Challenge #5- Beauty of the Marianas

Image
A time where the Moon lined up with the Paseo de Marianas as I walked down the roads full of tourists and hospitality.

Photo Challenge No. 4: Square Format

The docks, Tinian. My second favorite place to watch the sunset, but a lot of people go there so I prefer the lookout point. The lookout point, Tinian. The sunset sweetspot. Cool breeze, all you hear is birds chirping, and a killer view, but surprisingly not a load of people. Makes for a good thinking place. Taga beach, Tinian. Me and my cousins trying to cool off in this immense heat. Surf Club, Saipan. Came here once and I came back, the place has good food and an amazing location.

Elements of Art

Image
Form Suicide Cliff, Tinian. Saw an opportune moment to take a shot of the lion with the sun behind it. Texture Suicide Cliff, Tinian. I don't know what it says but I love how the engraving meets the textured surface of the shrine. Shape The shrine's shape, I think, gives the image a sort of like foundation to the perspective. Lines My bike. The bike's brake hoses allures my eyes to the headtube of the bike. Color Boston Rd., Tinian. A hotspot for Flame trees that's always a motivation for when I bike this far up Tinian. Space 107th Seabees shrine, Tinian. A nice shaded area that makes the space's light differ to the sky's enough to distinctly make the image have depth.  Tone Undisclosed location, Saipan. The place had great natural lighting that literally anything could make a good model.

Rule of Thirds

Image
Suicide Cliff, Tinian. Tried to make the cliff's shadow line up with the shrine but it doesn't have as big of an impact on the image as I'd hoped. Mobil Gas Station, Tinian. Had to take this picture in a hurry because this weather will make my ice cream a hot mess.  Surf Club, Saipan. Saw an opportunity to take good pictures with the amazing natural lighting in the restaurant. Suicide Cliff, Tinian. I chose to not follow the Rule of Thirds here because I thought symmetry was the main focus in taking the picture.

Types of Photograhy

Image
Silhouette Photography A view of the sunset from my evening jog up the lookout point on Tinian. Even though I love biking, I jog here because I could never enjoy such a view when I bike, I never notice anything on a bike because it's all so fast-paced, and biking up here is not as rewarding as running. Nature Photography A secret cove dubbed "Chiget" me and my friends saw in a history book and went biking around the island to find it. As my group of friends entitled me the "photographer" of the group, I was asked to take my friend here for her graduation shoot. Sunrise Photography Sunrise view from my porch. Randomly woke up at 4:00 AM and decided to wait for the sunrise as I couldn't get back to sleep. The picture doesn't do the sunrise justice I'm afraid, the amount of shades of purple I witnessed were jaw-dropping. Reflection Photography My porch, during the first rainfall Tinian has seen for weeks. Being s

Meet My Friend! Photo Challenge No.3

The majority of my relatives live in one apartment block, also where I live, so my cousins decided to adopt a cat on a Tuesday, and named her Tuesday. Whenever I come back from a long bike ride she's always the first to greet me home in the form of climbing on my bike. She's a delightful companion to my cousins and her children and grandchildren are even more playful.

My Heroes

Image
I know I should probably be praising my parents or God as my heroes but both divine entities refused to be pictured (Yes, I referred to my parents as divine entities. I love them very much). Instead I'm showing you my support system, without them I'd probably wouldn't be the same "kind" and "joyful" person they say I am. The picture is a visual representation of our friendship, we support each other and enjoy it in the process.

Pioneer in Photography

Image
One of the pioneers in photography that caught my eye was Ansel Adams. His work in black and white really emphasizes the drama in each picture. Without distracting colors I see raw creativity, that's what I like about his work. Work of Ansel Adams: My re-creations: A random tree in the perfect spot to get the tree and the moon into frame. Unfortunately it's another picture where the moon is practically microscopic. Taga Park, Tinian, the last standing Latte Stone. I don't know how Ansel Adams got such an amazing shot of the moon. The moon looks like a star in my picture. A fake rose I found lying around my house since roses aren't really found out in the wild on Tinian.
